Our minds do much of their development after we are born, as we experience an actual world. “Disembodied consciousness” is a phrase we can make but it is not a concept we can comprehend. Our words and our experiences of this world are inextricably bound together.
We can comprehend words such as “majestic” because we have experienced such phenomena as mountains–particularly the Mission Range in western Montana, which I drove beside on my way home from work this evening.
